The 05/27/13 Joy Jar

26 May

Memorial Day is a day to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives in our nation’s conflicts. These brave men and women took orders from the Commander-in-Chief and Congress no matter how they have personally felt about the task they were assigned. Moi wants to thank each for they service. Today’s deposit into the ‘Joy Jar’ is the gratitude for those who gave their lives for moi’s freedom.

Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it.
Mark Twain

I love America more than any other country in this world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually.
James A. Baldwin

We come, not to mourn our dead soldiers, but to praise them.                    Francis Amasa Walker

The patriot’s blood is the seed of Freedom’s tree.                                    Thomas Campbell, Stanzas

Peace to each manly soul that sleepeth;
Rest to each faithful eye that weepeth…                                                    Thomas Moore, How Oft Has the Banshee Cried

For love of country they accepted death.                                                 James A. Garfield

Are they dead that yet speak louder than we can speak, and a more universal language? Are they dead that yet act? Are they dead that yet move upon society and inspire the people with nobler motives and more heroic patriotism?

Henry Ward Beecher

Courage is contagious. When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.”

Billy Graham

There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured with what is right in America.
William J. Clinton
